Kyle Brown

Representative Kyle Brown represents House District 12, which includes Lafayette, Louisville, Superior, Boulder, and Niwot.
Kyle was born in Colorado and first moved to House District 12 when he was one. He has devoted his career to public service and making life better for Colorado families. He received his Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard and his bachelor’s in Biology from Georgetown.
Kyle has served on the Louisville City Council where he fought climate change, passed affordable housing ordinances, and helped our community recover from both the Marshall fire and COVID. Kyle has also served as Deputy Commissioner for affordability programs at the Colorado Division of Insurance, where he helped design and implement the Colorado Option and other programs to bring high quality affordable health care to Colorado families. Kyle has advised progressive U.S. Senators and the last two Democrat governors on health care, education, human services, and economic security issues. Â
Rep. Brown has continued his work to reduce health care costs and create safeguards for wildfire victims, along with taking climate action while in the legislature. Kyle Brown serves as the Chair of the Health & Human Services Committee and a member of the Energy & Environment Committee and lives in Louisville with his wife and kids.
