(Feb. 18) – Jane Dougherty, a Littleton resident whose sister was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn., issued a statement today after the Colorado House of Representatives gave final approval to a package of four bills to increase gun safety.
Her statement follows:
“As a resident of the State of Colorado, I am very proud of our Democratic leaders who have fought for the four bills that will make Colorado a safer place to live, work and raise a family. Colorado can now call itself a leader in the prevention of gun violence. The final passage of these bills will honor my sister, Mary Sherlach, and all the victims of gun violence.”
