(Feb. 20) – The House voted this morning to make today Awareness Day for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in the State of Colorado.
SJR13-14 was sponsored in the House by Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp (D-Arvada). It already passed the Senate, where it was sponsored by Sen. Andy Kerr (D-Lakewood).
Rep. Kraft-Tharp praised the courage of the families who care for the developmentally disabled, and applauded Gov. John Hickenlooper for seeking funding to increase the number of developmentally disabled Coloradans who receive assistance.
“Colorado is one of the lowest in spending on developmental disability services. We are 47th in the nation,” Rep. Kraft-Tharp told the House.
